The Associated General Contractors of America Middle-TN Branch recognized Goodlettsville Elementary School for excellence in construction.
Designed by Goodwn Mills Cawood (GMC), Goodlettsville Elementary School (GES) is a 82,750 sf new school. A compact building footprint was designed in order to maximize circulation ratios, save money on building materials, and allow for maximum efficiency with the building's geothermal heating system.
Creative constructability features that can be found throughout the building include: innovative tree-like colums that create a signature look throughout the school, two-story slide in main lobby, bright colors, calming rooms, reading nooks, and sensory-friendly mazes.
GES hopes to be a model school within the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools portfolio.
