Grand opening celebrated for 100-unit mixed-income development

Last week, R.G. Anderson Company, Inc., Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA), and Mayor John Cooper celebrated the grand opening of Randee Rogers Apartments, a 100-unit, mixed-income development that includes 50 affordable apartments in the Buena Vista neighborhood of Nashville.

Randee Rogers Apartments features 50 new HUD-subsidized/affordable apartments, 25 workforce apartments, and 25 market-rate apartments that consist of one-, two- and three-bedrooms.

Notable features of the apartment building:

  • Mark Deutschmann of Village Real Estate funded the replication of colorful murals that surrounded the former site. The murals are now an identifying feature of the new building.

  • The building is named for Randee Rogers, an MDHA employee and long-time advocate for MDHA residents. As the Community Organization Coordinator Rogers wanted to better understand the residents she served, so she moved herself and two daughters from a home in south Nashville to MDHA's Historic Preston Taylor Apartments.
